The Bishops' palace. Oct 02, 2017
The Bishops' palace is a large three storeys building.

Its construction was started in the XIII century. It was rebuilt various times through the centuries.

Here the princes - bishops and later the bishops lived. The princes - bishops were priests who ruled over a territory.

Many rooms inside the palace are opened to visitors who enjoy them with a guided tour or by themselves.

Part of this palace was used as the bishops apartments as I wrote. Another part was where the German emperors were houses as guests of the princes - bishops.

Another area of this palace houses the museo diocesano. This is practically a museum of religious items. This is amde of 35 rooms.

Other highlights of this palace are the cathedral (duomo) museum and a large collection of ancient cribs.

The Bishops' palace is not fully open in the winter. During this season you can only visit the rooms with the ancient cribs.
