Fantastic choice Apr 12, 2009
My friend did the reservation for us. She found out about this hotel thru recommendation. Now, I know absolutely why this has been recommended. It's a quaint little hotel with everything you need. It's priced very smartly, including everything that's necessary, bed, towels, cable TV, AC, filling breakfast. There's even free internet at their reception.
Generally it's clean, but nothing really grand, but then again, this isn't really a five-star hotel so it's all right. It looks very refreshing, much like a tiny resort. They have a salt-water pool but it wasn't very salty that it stings your eyes - which is good. Food is fairly priced and the portions are huge and it's worth every penny. We got to our guesthouse, Billabong Hotel, dropped our bags and took a walk out to the Mekong . It was the water festival, Bon Om Tuk, which is when the river changes tides and what seemed like most of Cambodia turns up to celebrate on the river banks. The streets… Phnom Penh! |

We arrived at Phnom Penh in the afternoon and we immediately checked into the Billabong hotel. A simple, laid-back hotel. It is small with only 16 rooms, but can really give a very friendly and personalized service to its guests. We had our dinner there as well, the portions are huge! when we arrived, we checked in at billabong hotel, as to where our friend made a reservation for us. on our first day we just tried the pool, ate early dinner, took a bath and walked around phnom penh to look for a tuktuk driver who will tour us the following day and to search… phnom penh |
