The Best place I have ever been Travel Reviews

Jun 10, 2006
Moscow, absolutely amazing is the first thing that comes to mind. You can get everywhere, and I mean everywhere, amazingly cheap via the Underground. The trip started out a little weary, Lufhansa lost my bag, and the tour group I was with (definatly recommended BeatRootBackpackers, about 600 but they pay for your hotel and train to St. Petersburg and airport transportation to/from) didnt pick me up. Just in case anybody is going there and needs to take a cab. It is UPSTAIRS, dont take the cabs downstairs because they WILL RIP YOU OFF. Im talking 4X the price it should be. Fortunatly for me, I was refunded by my tour group. I wont go into how much I paid, but let me tell you I had to argue with the head of the company for all the money, and the hotel receptionist was laughing at how much I paid. Anyways the sights. Red square could be the most beautiful place I have ever been. St Basil is fantastic, and would recommend, I think the $5 entry fee. Get an ISIC card because you get a ton of discounts, all over Russia. The Kremlin was amazing, and Im not going to lie Lenin was a bit moving, despite the fact that he looks made out of wax. The anti-KGB museum was a HUGE waste of time, so pass on that. Honestly, if you dont want to spend a bunch of money, just ride around on the metro and look at all the train stations, because they are absolutely amazingly decorated. My personal favourite was the revolutionary station. Anyhoo, if you can make it to Russia, and think you can make it IN Russia, head to Moscow, and most likely instantly be hooked

ndingureiji says: This is the fanciest supermarket I have ever been to! Eliseyevsky Magazin is housed in a historic building on Moscow's main thoroughfare, Tverskata Ulitsa, and its interior is lavishly decorated with chandeliers and carvings on the walls. In short, it is like a palace turned into a supermarket. Thei...
