Modernism style housing project May 27, 2012
The Berlin Modernism Housing Estate consists of six complexes in Berlin that were built and designed to give an up and coming Berlin more aesthetic and modern housing options. They were built between WWI and WWII in the 1930's. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and protected as thus. The idea was that Berliners could enjoy a more modern residence with more amenities for a cheaper cost through improved labor, design, architectural planning and gardens. They became a model for world design. The complexes did survive the second world war and well worth visiting if you are into architecture.
