The Bavarian Guesthouse and German Restaurant Dec 21, 2008
I tend to seek out expat establishments where I know I will find decent western meals and in Sihanoukville, the Bavarian Guesthouse and German Restaurant is definitely tops in my book. Their relatively small beer garden-style restaurant offers excellent German food as well as Thai and Khmer dishes.

The German Breakfast here is a real feast - easily enough for two hefty meals for me: 2 slices of ham, Norwegian smoked salmon, bacon, liverwurst spread, pepperoni, two types of cheeses, a hard-boiled egg, two slices of rye bread, butter, honey, jam, and coffee or tea for US$4. I stack the ham, half the cheese, and half of the pepperoni into a sandwich with butter and French's mustard to take with me for an afternoon or evening meal. The remainder still leaves a hearty breakfast. Another favorite is their genuine German bratwurst with potato salad and garlic bread for $3.25.

The Bavarian Guesthouse and German Restaurant also offers thirteen rooms with cable TV, fan, and free internet from US$6 and up. Inside, a spacious full bar fills a lobby and another back room has a pool table. But the main draw here is the food.
