The Baron’s Palace Of Heliopolis
The Baron’s Palace Of Heliopolis Cairo Reviews
The Baron’s Palace Of Heliopolis Dec 10, 2009
Built as the private residence of the creator of Heliopolis (The Baron ).
He lived in the Palace, followed by his son, but after the revolution which took place in 1952, they left and the villa was sold. Legal problems followed and the new owners never did anything with the Palace and it was left to decay for over 40 years.
the Egyptian government bought the Palace and started to bring its gardens back to life. Renovation of the house has not started yet, and it will be difficult and very costly. For now the grounds are just used for TV events and musical concerts.
I was told that the old palace was build upon a type of turnstile that would rotate the whole building so that its windows were always facing the sun.
The Baron’s Palace remains the subject of rumors.
like that It’s haunted by bats, stray dogs, and others believe by ghosts.
in the 90s The Baron’s Palace Of Heliopolis have attracted teenagers for their wild parties. They would break into the place on weekends, drink beer and smoke pot(hashish). and later on they turned to go there for devil-worshiping, killing cats and writing their names with rats' blood on the palace's walls.
but now The palace has two guards who are responsible for making sure that nothing too extraordinary happens inside.
some people can tip the guards and go inside secretly! because bats lived in the Baron Palace, and young people damaged it with their graffiti that's why they recommend you to see it from a distance.
