Quality, Affordable Cape Town Accommodation Sep 11, 2013
The first thing to say about this hostel is that it is the best I have stayed in. Anywhere.

We arrived at 22:00 straight from the airport and the door security checked our group in and showed us to our room. We had a four person room with four single beds and it was very clean and had an en suite bathroom. I could see Table Mountain through the window whilst in bed.

The following day's light allowed for a better inspection of the place and also to speak to reception and book some excursions. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant and arranged a fantastic trip for us around the Cape. We were picked up from outside the hostel.

There is a bar/cafe/restaurant at The Backpack and all the food we ordered was to a high standard. The drinks, both alcoholic and none alcoholic were very reasonably priced.

Location wise, it is 5 minutes walk from Long Street and right near the centre of Cape Town.

If you're looking for inexpensive and pleasant accommodation near to the heart of Cape Town then this is the place for you. The common area is extremely nice to chill out in and also has a pool table / swimming pool available. Free WiFi is also always a bonus!
