Affordable, friendly, highly recommended 5* Hostel Dec 06, 2010
Paying 3* prices for a 5* hostel is always a good start, however this hostel is one the most friendliest places I've stayed! The staff can not do enough for you ensuring you get the most out of your stay at Cape Town and they all have a vast wealth of knowledge and contacts to enhance your stay. In the ideal location just around the corner from Long Street the main high street in Cape Town means you can take a five minute stroll to the town where you'll find shops bars and restaurants but staying here you'll avoid the night noise and crowds that can occur. 20/25 minute walk or a taxi would cost you about 25 - 30 rand from the V&A waterfront which is a a really nice shopping experience and just round the corner is the Cape Town Stadium. behind the hostel youll find the backdrop of Table Mountain there are amazing views from the hostel and is about 30 minute walk from the hostel. The cleanliness in this hostel is second to none, and the rooms are immaculate with hot showers, clean bedding and tea/coffee facilities. 24 hour security and cctv on the outside makes this hostel feel a safe environment where you can sleep and have fun with out worrying. The Food is amazing! reasonably priced, quality taste, and again the staff make it all the more. At the hostel on certain nights they have special themed nights, Tuesday is a traditional African Braai which is a African BBQ one set price all you can eat, variety of choice its to die for! I know when im back in Cape Town I wont be having any second thoughts as to where ill be staying!

before you even set foot into the place your already taken back with the view of table mountain, this place sits a couple of minutes walk from the top of long street(party place of cape town) and almost right underneath the famous mountain. Once inside the secure gates, ur greeted by very friendly staff at reception. Even though i turned up around lunch time on new years day and people were still suffering from hangovers everybody was very welcoming. The rooms are very spacious and airy, and of a very high standard, with individual safes too. The hostel is a lot bigger than it appears from the outside, with funky little bar and courtyard to sit, chill out and plan the next move, or get to know some fellow travellers. Everybody here was incredibly friendly and tries to make you feel like your at home. The service at the bar was comically slow ( hell it was new years day i guess) but even that just added to the character of the place. The views from the pool of table mountain are mesmerising as you sit and watch the table cloth realign itself, while catching a few rays :) The hostel offers everything you need with internet, travel desk, kitchen, parking etc. would highly recommend it to anybody wanting great accommadation while in cape town :)

January 03 2007     Oliver. You’re late! Carl barked at me. We had scheduled a meeting to run through the current situation on the recruitment sales pipeline.  I checked my watch…cape town to being surrounded by crazy thai people.   The journey was a pain in the ass, I left Sarah’s at 6am South African time, and arrived…
