The Attendant London Reviews
Come for the quirkiness, stay for the quality Mar 10, 2015
So after going on the London Loo tour and having a drink in the Cellar Door (an old public toilet now turned into a bar), someone told me about The Attendant. It used to be a Victorian public toilet but has since been turned into a little coffee shop. Well as soon as I heard about this place I knew I would be going there one day in the near future.
And today was that day. While enjoying a walk around sunny soho I stopped off at the Attendant for a nice cup of coffee. As I was walking down the street it looked just like a public toilet. It was just as you get closer that you realise there is more to the place.
As I walked down the stair to the "toilets" I was greeted by a charming little coffee shop. I had only planned to have a coffee just to say I was having a coffee in a toilet but when I walked up to the counter of delicious looking sandwiches, salads and cakes I could't resist staying for lunch. It's not very often I get to enjoy a delicious vegetarian sandwich but I did here. The lunch was so good that I then went on to order a brownie. And yes that brownie was delicious too.
The staff were very friendly here and you could tell when they were talking to regulars and i'm not surprised they had several pop down while I was there. I must admit, if I was still working in the area i'd be a regular too! People may be visiting for the quirkiness but they are coming back for the quality of product and service. I'm looking forward to returning there.
