Asian Civilizations Museum Feb 11, 2013
Asian Civilizations Museum is simply fantastic. Arguably the best museum in the town and only must see museum. They did not have easy task representing all countries and civilizations, but they did very good job. Most of the galleries are on the second floor and you are traveling from the gallery to the gallery experiencing the past of the region and the way people did things. Many unique pieces of artifacts, great bronze works, stone works, calligraphy, textiles and everything in between. Chinese culture has the largest area with variety of furniture, scrolls, art, statues… Couple more galleries are on the third floor.

Asian Civilisations Museum : Devotion & Desire: Cross-Cultural Art in Asia Jul 25, 2013
This is the special exhibit on during 30 May 2013 - 08 Dec 2013. I dropped in during June on my trip to Singapore. It has always been one of the highlights of my visits to Singapore.

This time round the special exhibits have a variety of items which are used in religious purposes across Asia and another section which focuses on lacquered objects.

For those who are passing by Singapore and have maybe 3-4hours to spare, this place is highly recommended. If you need to take a break (lunch at Indochine ?), you can re-enter the museum.

Entrance Fee incl. special exhibitions is S$ 8.00
