The Arnolfini Bristol Reviews
The Arnolfini Dec 30, 2007
The Arnolfini is an arts centre in bristol, specialising in contemporary art.
It is not for everyone; many of the exhibitions I have seen here are utterly incomprehensible - there was one in particular featuring found objects, including rotten tennis balls, that I never did figure out. But sometimes there is some really interesting art there. Similarly, the performaing arts can be very moving, adn there are sometimes great films in the little cinema studio, but sometimes the performance art is just weird for the sake of being weird.
All in all, the Arnolfini is extremely hit and miss. This is fine for the free exhibitions, but less good for events that you have paid to see.
All in all, it's worth popping in to see what is going on. There is also a nice cafe. in fact, the ebst thing to do at Arnolfini is probably to go there in nice weather and buy a beer to drink dangling your legs over the side of the harbour.
Diabled access is good, entrance price depends on the event but is free for the galleries.
