Arabian Night, also called Alif Laila - located on the corner Soi 3/1 (Soi Arab) and Soi 3 (Soi Nana). On this soi (street), you will find everything Middle Eastern in terms of food, clothing, souvenirs, and hotels.

At Arabian Night you can sit back and relax, have a few drinks (alcoholic drinks are limited to a few beers, spirits and house wine) and a meal, and watch life go by - you can see everything here - the locals, the Thais, the tourists, and of course the working girls who frequent the restaurant also.

The food is exceptional for the price! I highly recommend the naan bread, cheese samosas, paneer makhani and feta cheese salad. Not to mention the hommus with lamb. I honestly don't think you could go wrong with the food. There are deserts on the menu, but the only one they serve is a plate of very fresh mixed fruit.

They also serve Shisha, with a choice of 4 delicious flavours, and they are willing to mix flavours :)) The boys who prepare and serve the shisha never let the coals burn out, and make it extra strong if you request it - excellent service!

If you want to order, I would suggest asking one of the waiters who work there, as the waitresses don't seem to understand much English, and are mainly there for serving the food, and clearing. The waitors can be distracted by the tv, and by the passing people, so you may need to yell out or be patient to get their attention.

We have also celebrated several birthdays here, and upon request they will section off an area and reserve it for you. They also helped us blow up balloons and hang up streamers.

They have indoor and outdoor seating, but if you want to smoke, you need to sit outside - the atmosphere is also much better outside :) You will get the Thai street sellers offering you everything from gold bangles, to laser pointers, to squeaking toys. Just remember the Thai phrase "Mai Ow ka/kup" if you don't want to buy anything.

Overall, if you're after a cheap but very yummy meal, good atmosphere, and friendly service, I definitely recommend checking out The Arabian Night!! :))

The only downside - cash only.
