The oldest French Mediterranean aquarium Jul 15, 2009
Located in an exceptional setting,facing the sea and less than 100 meters far from the Banyuls-Cerbère Marine Reserve,this aquarium,the oldest in Mediterranean after the Napoli's one is part of the oceanographic observatory of the Paris' University.Opened in 1885,it shows in 40 basins local marine fauna and flora with over 200 species of plants,marine invertebrates,fishes,all originating of the Pyrénées Orientales department.
