The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral Tallinn Reviews
An amazing experience Mar 14, 2011
This stunning Orthodox cathedral is spectacular! It was built in 1900 when Estonia was part of the Russian empire and was dedicated to the Prince of Novgorod – Alexander. The history behind it is almost as fascinating as the cathedral itself!
On the inside it’s decorated with beautiful mosaics and icons and the atmosphere is peaceful and calm. I attended an afternoon service (the entry is free) and it was definitely the most memorable thing I did in Estonia.
Keep in mind though that photography isn’t allowed..the Estonians are very attentive.
