Thavisouk Hotel Vang Vieng

This hotel has nice bungalows close to the Nam Song river and is located at the edge of the center of Vang Vieng. The beds we had were a drama though since they had sprung mattresses, and bad ones at that. The plugs they used for the screws in the bathroom are as bad as in many other hotels we've seen. Everything seems to be on the verge of dropping of the wall and it's almost impossible to take a shower without holding the shower head since the loose plugs make the water go anywhere but in the right direction. Still, all of this could be lived with. The biggest disadvantage was the total lack of interest or service with some of the restaurant staff. Food was often cold, not replenished and asking for a favour certainly didn't result in the normal Lao smile here.
