Sep 10, 2006All around Bangkok, whether you are catching a taxi, a tuk tuk, or walking to The Grand Palace, drivers or people on the street will tell you that the place you want to head to is closed, but they are happy to take you somewhere else. DO NOT LISTEN TO THEM!!! It's a very common scam in this city. They say it because they are going to get a kick back from the other place that they take you to. Although I was warned of this myself prior to going, from friends that had already been there, I was absolutely blown away with the frequency that this actually occurred to us. Please, don't miss a place you want to see or go to by listening to the people that say this; they can be very insistent, but it's not the truth. |

The place has quite sophisticated interiors, and they had DJ playing chill out sounds (this one I’m familiar with). They served various cocktail; we ordered some Mojitos and continuing the conversation. Em and Naam also joined us. In Bangkok the clubs and bars have to closed… Thailand Trip - Day 2 |

They keep saying that the place is closed. Don't fall for that scam if you ever make it here. One thing I've noticed over the past few days is that Bangkok is stuck in the 80's. Despite their advanced use of technology, they seem… Seeing everything |

After being told
twice that the place was closed we found the front door and made it
in. We read about this scam in the guidebooks but still fell for
it. Frequently people, even those who appear to be officials or
representatives, will tell you that the site is closed… The Grand Palace |
