Since there are only two bus companies leaving Sihanoukville, I highly reccomend getting your ticket as far in advance as possible, as I coudn't find one and had to buy my friends because I had to teach the following day...
Cambodia is definitely a country that will leave an impression on you. The people are very friendly and jump at the opportunity to practice their english. Numerous men that I have met in differnet parts of the country were very poor and seemed unable to dig th...

5th Feb 2008 - We had to get up early yet again to catch our bus to Phnom Penh which is the capital of Cambodia.
We headed off and bought some supplies for the 6 hour journey from the
nearby market (more cake). Again the bus stops a couple of times on the
way to give everyone a break. The second time we stopped we nearly got
killed by manic children trying to sell us fruit. I told them all I
didn’t want any just to get them out the way for a minute and to allow
me to get off the bu...

*This entry is backdated*We arrived in Saigon, and headed to the hotel that I usually stay at when I'm there. Then we decided to take a look around town, and get something to eat.Later on that day we met up with Hong at Highlands Coffee, and I got to meet her baby daughter for the first time. I was so excited, and she was so cute. That night Jenni and I headed out to the backpacker area for a few drinks, and we ended up having a pretty early night. The next day we decided to go to the market, ...

Today we woke up around 7:30am. Steve had some interest in going to a site just outside of Ho Chi Minh City, the Cu Chi tunnels. We saw that there were probably buses that go there around 8am, so we quickly got out of bed, packed up our stuff and left the hotel. We went to the travel agency next door, and it was exactly 8am and we said we want to go to the Cu Chi tunnels now. He said the bus was full, but ran to a nearby travel agency to see if they had room. The...

We woke at 7am and had a breakfast of pineapple, watermelon, dragonfruit (colourful outside, monochrome inside) and banana downstairs before setting out to the bus station and the bank to get some chores done. We walked to get a feel for the place, but I hoped to convince Zoe to hire bicycles as I was sure that seeing all the sights of the city would be tough going on our feet. Seeing all the crazy motorcycle traffic the night before had not reassured her of the safety of this however, and th...
