Than Bin 3 Serena Hotel Hoi An Reviews
Lovely Traditional Vietnamese Building Jul 05, 2013
This is the second time I stay at this place. The hotel located right outside the old town with plenty of restaurants, mini market, shops, hair salon and massage place just next door from the hotel.
It cost usd35 per night for two people including buffet breakfast, booked through booking.com.
I really like the looks of the hotel building from outside and inside, which was built from wood with traditional Vietnamese carving, winding staircase and antique furniture of chairs and tables, a pair of lions guarding the entrance door and a small swimming pool next to the lobby and plenty of lazing chairs around the pool.
The female receptionist was friendly and speaks English well and our room was ready. The bellboy carried our luggage up to the room. The hotel does not have an elevator and we have to climb the stairs up to the room. The hotel was very busy at that time and several small children was at the swimming pool accompany with their parent.
We have room on the third floor at the end of the corner which make it a bit quitter. The room has a very small balcony facing the park in the back and we saw several people practicing Tai Chi with slow movement.
The room itself very compact, with some of the amenities we need such as air condition, cupboard, a couple of chairs and desk, but we do not really need flat screen television, phone or slipper as we do not use it.
The bathroom was quite spacious with bathtub, toilet and sink. It was clean and the hotel provided the toiletries inside the bathroom. The cleaner clean and change the towel on daily basis, also refurnish the toiletries.
There is a spa and massage centre inside the hotel at a higher price compare with outside but I did not try it.
The hotel has an old city map and offers several tours around Hoi An city to “My Son” and “Marble Mountain” at a very reasonable price.
We booked the tour from the hotel and the tour bus pick us up directly from the hotel right on time, but drop us back right at the market in the old city.
We also booked the private taxi from the hotel to go to Danang airport at very reasonable price, unfortunately I do not remember how much it cost.
The private taxi was waiting for us at the time agreed, very clean, reasonable new vehicle, and polite driver – but he did not speaks much English. We have to pay everything direct to the hotel when we check out for all the hotel room, any drink and meals in the restaurants, tour and taxi.
The buffet breakfast was very good with many selections of fruits juice, fresh fruits, salad, vegetables, fried noodles, fried chicken, bacon, sausages, bread, sweet pastries and we can order omelets or any style of eggs directly from the cooks at the breakfast room. The traditional Vietnamese phoo noodles also available during breakfast. It was very busy during breakfast time. It seems the guests from the other sister hotel also has breakfast here.
