An informal poll of my female friends has suggested that Naria Phad shopping center is the best place to go for Thai Souvenir arts and crafts, leather goods, and the latest fashions in knock off purses. Outside of the Chatuchak weekend market, this indoor bazaar is possibly the cheapest bar…

Hello,
It all depends on what you want really. I would recommend visitng the Chatuchack weekend market (open on Friday (only some vendors opened though) and Saturday and Sunday all vendors are opened). The earlier you go the better. It is an outdoor market so dress accordingly for…

1. Carry your business cards. When you meet someone new and want to connect later, it's a handy way to share your contact info. This is really great if you end of taking photos of each other and want to share them later.
2. Carry a small notepad and pen(s). I've been writing down the URL for Trav…

I really love the Siroco bar on the roof of the State building. The view was amazing and although the drinks were very pricey (almost equal to San Francisco) it was worth checking out. The rooftop bar at the Banyan Tree hotel was also lovely.

I haven't done a lot of trekking here, but I know a bunch of (sportier) people who have. There are a lot of places in northern Thailand where you can trek from... actually pretty much anywhere up here has trekking (Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Pai, Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Song, Nan, etc, etc, etc...). Chia…

The next morning in Chaing Mai I woke up to the sound of King Anthems blaring from loudspeakers. “I thought he just had his birthday or something?” I asked Kiaw coming downstairs “What’s the meaning of this racket?” I yawned. The Thai ladies looked troubled and turned the TV set on. More y…

Phi Phi is fantastic, I think morning is more better because by afternoon all the fast boats with the daytrippers arrive (too much crowd). You could also try Hin Bida (shark point) south of Phi Phi Ley. There you will find leopard sharks, nurse sharks and reef sharks. For turtles try Ko Bida Nok. Al…

If you don't like the crowded beach in Hua Hin itself, try going to Suanson beach instead. (I am not sure on the spelling of "Suanson".)
Just go to Hua Hin's Clocktower and take a car, tuk-tuk, bus or hitch-hike there, it is just about ten minutes south.
Suanson beach is part of a military res…

We brought traveler's cheques to Thailand and had no problem cashing them, banks are everywhere. But ATM's are so much more convenient and give you a better exchange rate. Bring an ATM card and forget the cheques.

We were four of us with lots of luggage. The taxi drivers would insist on charging us Bht 2500 from Bangkok to Pattaya by car.
I found out that from Ekkamai bus station you can go to pattaya in a comfortable AC van at just 160-170 Bht per person and reach in just 2 and half hours. Very convenient…

One of the easiest ways to get around in Bangkok is just taking the local buses. Yes it may be a bit of a hassle to find the right one, but usualy it's enough to ask one of the locals, and they wil tell you. It's a cheaper way then taking taxi everywhere (10 baht VS 250 baht).
However in the after…
