Bear with me as I poke fun at the overtly aggressive selling efforts of the tailors on Phuket. No matter we went in Phuket, someone tried to sell Steve a suit and me a gown. There was a tailor on every block! It got to be a bit much, and we went from politely declining, to ignoring them, to trying to avoid them altogether. I present to you a page from the book…The Tailor's Handbook to SUCCESS in Phuket. CHAPTER 8 : SALES & MARKETING: THE JOB DESCRIPTION OF SUCCESSFUL TAILORS...

So i went to bed at around 6ish in the morning after the meetup. Woke up at around 10ish because I got hungry. I washed up a bit and went down to McDonalds to grab a burger. Such a shame, really. Of all the good food in Bangkok, i had to pick McDonalds! Well, desperate times call for desperate measures! After grabbing a bite, i popped by the internet cafe near the guesthouse to check my mail.. ok fine, travbuddy and facebook as well hehehehe. Then i went back to my room and crashed for&n...

Day 4.
It was already 5AM when I left the gang at Buddy Resto. As planned, Cathy and I will try to catch the 630, or 730 the latest, bust to Poipet. I deliberately stayed on late as I didn't intend to sleep anymore. Otherwise, I will end up marrying my bed for the whole day. When I get to our room, Cathy was already preparing herself for our long trip. After my very quick shower, we were all set for Cambodia. Angkor, here we come!

I slept lovely last night and enjoyed breakfast just as much as the smooth airco in the hotel room. Temperatures are very warm and the sky is blue, things couldn't have been nicer. We leave for the flower and vegetable market, which I like a lot for the same reasons as I liked China Town: there are many odd things to see, many colors and smells and tastes and people. We have a delicious pancake made of cocos at one of the stalls, while strolling through the buzzy morning atmosphere. To bad fl...

My journey to come to Bangkok Meet Up was not easy. Everything seems not in the right place. Starting from my flight from Pekanbaru to Kuala Lumpur was delayed for 2 hours and it meant there would be a big possibility I would miss my connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok. Fortunately, I made it 15 minutes to checked-in before the counter closed :)
I said it was just the start! Then in my flight from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok, I experienced horrifying turbulence! It was soooo b...

People i met here, who contributed to and improved my trip: Juliana (Russia), Barbara (Austria), Manuel (Austria)
We arrived in Chiang Khong, Thailand, just before the border closed, but ended up disappointed that there were no night buses to Bangkok. We bumped into a group of other travellers who we went out for a drink with. One Dutch guy called Bart had lost his Laos exit card and they made him pay $90 for a new one! Completely outrageous. To make his day worse the bus he'd paid for to ta...

Before I start let me say something about myself: I'm one of those guys that can detect the most subtle differences but I never see something obvious. Read this entry and you will know why I'm saying this.
This morning I wake up a little bit late, knock at Dani's and Kim's rooms, they are here! Yesterday I lost them, he he. Continental Breakfast! There's a week that I didn't have one.

Woke up by my alarm at 5am. Still so sleepy. I did pack all of them last night so all I had to do was get a taxi and head to airport. I said goodbye to my friend and got on a pink taxi (YAAAAAY!!!!!) and went to the airport.Still so dark outside.. OH BOY... I REALLY DON'T WANT TO LEAVE HERE. I NEED AT LEAST ONE MORE MONTH! That's what I thought on my way to the airport.. Thailand is just full of temples and bunch of travlers and parties everywhere. To be honest, I'm not a party girl and not a...

Sleep: Good. Waking up: A bit annoyed...
Every morning, I can feel Eka waking up before me but she would only get up and rush to the bathroom when she hears my phone alarm and i am just about to get up myself. And then I would be left in my bed, disturbed from sleep and from my dream about my then boyfriend Kyle Patrick. I've only known him for not more than a week but I was already deeply in love with him that I would play his video on my camera all morning wasting half of my battery...

The Palm Garden Hotel in Pattaya wanted 1300 Baht ($43) for a taxi to the Bangkok airport but I arranged one down the street for 800 ($26). The ride took an hour and a quarter and picked me up at the hotel to deliver me to the China Airlines check-in counter. No more busses.
As on my arrival in November, I avoided going into the city. I had been through Bangkok countless times before and nothing there interested me enough to endure its noise and traffic. In fact, next year I ...

It was our third day in Bangkok. Time was running so fast. We again woke up at 5:00 AM and ate our breakfast at 6:15 AM. At 7:15 AM, Sam called us in our room to inform that he was already downstairs. So there we left the hotel five minutes later. Since it was still early in the morning, going to the floating market was hassle-free but it took us 1 hour to get there. Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is already outside Bangkok.
It was 8:20 AM or exactly one hour when Mr. Sam parked his car in ...

Our first day ont he boat was very relaxing. We hung out in the sun, read our books, played ping pong, and explored the boat a bit. Tonight was formal night so I wore my suit and we had our picture taken by the ship photographers. If it's a good shot I'm sure we'll get it and I'll try and post it. For dinner I tried Salmon rowe (fish eggs) which was suprisingly good. A bit salty. The rest of dinner was great too. Lobster bisque, a salad, and veal farf...
