Thai Airways

I flew on Thai Airways from Bangkok to Kathmandu, Nepal in 2007. The flight attendants were very beautiful in their uniforms that were based on traditional Thai costumes. The seats weren't quite as roomy as those on Korean Air. The food was ok, but again I was spoiled by Korean Air.

It was a 3-hour flight, but it turned out to be longer because we circled Kathmandu for over 30 minutes. The pilots weren't trained to fly on instruments and cloud cover was preventing them from getting a good visual of the runway. That was a bit unnerving...how would they handle really bad visibility if they had an emergency? What was even more scary was seeing broken planes in pieces along the runway when we finally landed.

Important note: If you get into Bangkok around midnight and don't have a flight until the next morning, look for the guest rooms that are inside the airport. I didn't know about them and had booked a room at the airport hotel (which was wonderful). What I didn't know was that I had to tariff when I went to check in the next day since I have physically left the airport.
