I"m not generally a fussy flyer. As long as I have a ticket I'm a happy girl. Of course I try not to get the dreaded middle seat for long flights and all. I normally go with whatever airline is cheapest or can give me miles. During my trip to Bangkok I was a little limited in my options. I wanted as little lay-overs as possible to avoid luggage lost and didn't want to land at night for that dreaded first cab ride. So I paid a couple hundred more and flew direct with Thai Airlines. Best airlines ever! It was almost American standard first class in coach! It had tons of leg room and really great service. Warm towels and toothbrushes in the bathroooms are greatly appreciated on a 17 hour flight. The service was very friendly and food was great. The only thing is they don't let you sleep through meals. I'll just chalk that up to cutural differences. I highly recommend Thai for you next flight when possible. Only slightly more expensive most of the time but well worth it.

(note to self- avoid all American owned airlines, they're completely lacking in service and they
nickel and dime you for food, movies, drinks, etc). Thai airlines is 5
star service, 20 movies to watch, computer games, language lessons, music (un a multi entertainment center) and free drinks
and juice--all you want… I MISSED MY PLANE! |

I got plane tickets ahead of time, from Thai airways. I won't fly with Phuket air because I don't trust their safety record, and I have heard horrendous stories about the customer service from these airlines. Thai airways got us there on time and with no problems. Based on advice… Getting to Phuket |

Normally I had to wait here at the airport for one night. The time between my flights fom KTM to Bangkok, and Bangkok to Hanoi is 12 hours. The nice lady from Thai Airlines gave me a hotelroom at the airport, against the rules. She's sooooo sweet, and I'm soooo lucky.… 12 hours waiting at the airport |

It wasn't bad though because I was on Thai airlines. They gave Emirates a run for their money. I think we've forgotten what service is in America. They feed you until you feel like you're gonna burst; I think I watched 4 movies; I drank until I couldn… On the clock... |

5 hour flight with Thai airlines (Asian airlines offer a much better flying experience at reasonable prices) we land in Bangkok's futuristic airport. We spent most of our time in Khao San area, which is the backpackers's paradise. Cheap guesthouses, loads (and loads and loads) of eating… City of beautiful temples - country of smiles? |
