Texel Vacation Guide
Texel is the first of a string of islands which stretches from the north-west coast of the Netherlands along the German coast all the way to Denmark.
This island has a modest 16.000 inhabitants, most of which are working in the fishing industry are seaman ore work as sheep farmers with the well known Texelaar sheep.
Texel has one of the highest sun hours count in the Netherlands. That combined with the long coastline with just white sandy beaches makes it into the ultimate beach destination in the Netherlands.
In Den Burg and De Koog you will find most of the shops, pubs, fine restaurants and nightlife. Here we have bars where young people gather and quite pubs with Jazz music.
All you can eat spareribs restaurants next to a classy 4 star .
howe to get there.
The ferry leaves from Den Helder and brings you in half an hour to the island. Count on waiting time in the summertime though.Den Helder is about an hour by train from Hectic Amsterdam and therefore the perfect escape from city live.
