Tevreden tijd

In the Dutch city Haarlem you can visit an exhibition of drawings made by Anton Pieck for the Efteling. Unfortunately everything is in Dutch. But does art need words? No, you can enjoy this wonderful work even if you can’t read the descriptions. There is also a movie (40 minutes) which tells the story of the Efteling. Anton Pieck is famous for his work for the Efteling, but he made so much more. You can see it all.

This exhibition made me think a lot of my childhood. When my mother worked night shifts and slept during the day, my father took my sister and me to the Efteling. So my mother could have a good sleep. Anton Pieck is the creator of the Sprookjesbos (fairy-tale forest / this is the old part of the Efteling) which we visited as childeren. The park has expanded in the 80’s with roller-coasters. Next Saturday we will have a TB meet-up in this park.

I have only 2 pictures of this exhibition because when I was taking the second picture they told me that I was not allowed to take pictures. So I respected their wishes. The real thing is always better than pictures. Although I really wanted a picture of the Doornroosje castle. The entrance fee is 5 euro. More info: www.dehallenhaarlem.nl
