In the south-east of Corsica (France), near from the touristic city of Porto-Vecchio, there is a small seaside village named Pinarellu. A beautiful place where I live somedays in the year.Enjoy the visit and let me know your opinion ;-)

So I went to Bavella on the 11th (even if the location is set as Ajaccio - it was too difficult to find it on the map here!)We went for what was spposedly a three hour walk, but was in fact only two (although we admittedly stopped for lunch, and the climbing took a bit of time as well - to be explained in a minute!)So we did the walk called 'La Trou de la Bombe' (it had a Corsican name but I have apparently already forgotten it!) Which involved a fairly easy walk with a rather large hol…

In 2004 I made my second trip to the beautiful Mediterranean Island of Corsica which belongs to France.I spent most of my time in the southern town of Bonifacio where my late Aunt lived. This is well worth a trip.

This is a must do trip - one of the special places. Bonifacio has 2 parts, the Vieille Ville and la Haute Ville - atop the cliffs on a peninsula overlooking the crystal clear Mediterranean Sea. The harbor is in a sort of fjord inlet, with beautiful marinas, cafes and restaurants - great French seafood.
This is an idyllic destination that doesn't get the usual hot spot hordes of tourists. Sardinia is a short ferry ride away, but of course a private jet is nice!

Ajaccio is more than the birthplace of napoleon Bonaparte. If you go to the countryside around it you will find wineries, farms, and places worth visiting.

Wed 25th June
Arrive Calvi 11am after 122 miles of motor sailing. Log reads 1879 miles. The trip over was uneventful, except for passing through what I think was a fishing fleet of at least 7 boats. Also passed something stationary showing just 1 green light - eerie!
The mountains of Corsica appeared out of the early morning mist and we made landfall at Calvi thanks to the autopilot and waypoint track. Three of the largest motor boats I have seen arrived while we were there and moored up al…
