Terminal 5 New York Reviews
Concert, Live music hall May 22, 2009
More intimate than Madison Square Garden, Terminal 5 is located not too far off from Times Square.
The concert hall is not too large, and has two floors of balconies for VIP ticket holders, and a standing room area that accommodates maybe 100 people, so not too huge.
The acoustics are good. I was towards the front of the crowd tonight and I could understand the lyrics being sung, which is sometimes not the case at MSG b/c they are accommodating a much larger crowd of people, thus overdoing it on the sound.
The security strictly abides the rules, as when you are on line, you are immediately checked for ID for drinks, then your bags are checked. Also, I had a full sealed bottle of water and they made me toss it (so you are forced to just buy their drinks I imagine). This made me slightly cringe as I'm semi-eco-conscious and hate waste... In addition, during the concert, the security also busted some kids for smoking pot, which never happens at MSG b/c it's so huge that no one knows where the smell of weed is coming from in the nose bleed section.
That said, I still prefer Terminal 5 for the sound quality.
