Terlingua Vacation Guide
Terlingua, the home of the infamous World Chili Championship held every November, is at the gateway of Big Bend National Park. It was originally a mining town, as it major source of mercury. Terlingua is on the Rio Grande River, which forms the border between Texas and Mexico.
The older part of the town is known as the Terlingua Ghost Town, and is being redeveloped as a tourist destination with restaurants and clubs. It is a good jumping off point for discovering Big Bend, rafting the Rio Grande, exploring local art, hiking, mountain biking and motorcycling.
