I go with my husband every year for a weekend trip to various places around the country. For a while there we were only going to Florida (golf resorts). This trip was pretty cool. I did some walking and came across Music Row and some really cool shops. Bought some shoes (oh yeah), turned the corner and found this pub. YES!!! I'm a sucker for an Irish pub. Made it a standing goal to seek one out every city I visit. Drove by the Grand Ol' Opry but...

I put a question mark on the title because every time I fly Northwest something bad happens. However I am planning another trip from AUS to EVV and it looks like the least expensive and most direct flight will be Northwest to Memphis connecting with Cape Air to Evansville.
If Cape Air isn't familiar to you, don't feel alone. I hadn't head of them until I started flying to Evansville. On my last flight the American pilot told us to look out the window at the Cape Air plane p...

Well last week my wife had spring break so she left home without me, now its my turn. A few of my cousins were also on spring break and created their own road trip around the South East of the US and on their way back to WI had a planned stop in Nashville. That was close enough for me, so I went to meet up for 2 days.
Good drive. Although I don't think you can plan on a 4 hour drive in the US without getting in at least one traffic jam...

the title speaks for itself. if you're not into country music, there's nothing to do in nashville but drink. don't get me wrong, country music is good. i do like some country music. it touches the heart. i know, lame. but true. their melodic tones and emotionally raw lyrics really strike a chord. literally and figuratively. it's just not my complete cup of tea.
therefore, for those that are not into country, drinking will be what you'll most likely occupy your time with. unfortunate, but tr...

When ever I visit a new town or city the first thing I do is look for the local art museum and public/community art. Art is everywhere and often where one least expects it to be :)

We stopped in Memphis, TN for a little while and I was able to get out and stretch my legs. Being in a sleeper room is nice, but I miss being able to talk to other passengers. After dinner I will head to the lounge car and see what is going on up there.I use to live in Memphis, back in 1990-1991, so it was nice to be in a familiar area. The train runs along the river and passes the Pyramid. This was built after I had left the city and as we left the station I got to see it for the first time....

So the past couple of weekends have been non-stop. A few friends of mine from Auburn came up a couple of weekends ago and stayed at my house. Needless to say, fun was had by all. While they were here, we decided to venture out on the town and see what we could find. We decided to go to one of the most popular clubs here...Play. It's located right off of Church Street downtown right in the heart of the gay/lesbian district. There are several other bars located on the same strip, one being Trib...

We made our first doggie stop, about 4 hours into the trip. They have been being so good! The TomTom is showing about 550 miles left to go, so even though we are still above 1/2 a tank, let's fill up with gas, and see if we can go about 6 hours before the next doggie stop.
