Temppeliaukio Church Jan 28, 2017
Temppeliaukio Church is a Lutheran Church in Helsinki. It is a quite modest looking building, seen from the outside. Maybe I hadn't noticed it at all, if it wouldn't have been for the crowd of tourists standing outside. This church is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Helsinki, and half a million people visit it annually!.

At once when I got inside I got the feeling of,, Wow!! The walls are built into the rock and the interior is bathed in natural light, entering through the glazed dome!

When I visited the church, there was a woman, playing piano. Later I read on internet that this church is frequently used as a concert venue, due to its excellent acoustics.

The Church is designed by the architect brothers Timo and Tuomo Suomalainen. The church was first opened 1969.
