An unbeatable view of Osaka Jul 03, 2010
Tempozan Ferris Wheel is located in Osakas Tempozan Harbor Village, next to the Osaka Aquarium and the Suntory museum. To get there take the subway to Osakako station on the Chūō Line. You can see the Ferris Wheel from the station.

The Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel, with its 112,5 meter (368 feet) in diameter, used to be the worlds largest, tallest and most technologically advanced observation wheel. Now it is second after the British Airways London Eye.

The Ferris wheel consists of 60 cabins with a capacity of 8 persons each and a trip takes 15 minutes. The wheel goes around continuously, but not very fast, so you just hop on. It is well worth a visit. The panoramic view of the sea, the mountains (Mt Rokko) and the entire city of Osaka, including Akashi Ohashi Bridge, is quite spectacular.

The Ferris wheel is a famous date spot as well as the night view with the illumination is quite romantic.

Next to the Ferris Wheel is the Tempozan Marketplace. The shops are open from 11 am - 8 pm and restaurants to 9 pm.

Hours are:

10 am - 9:30 pm

Admission is: ¥700

There is a combination ticket with Osaka aquarium which will save you some money.
