Constructed in 1882 to lodge to two statues brought from Burma. The main thing is the statues and the ceremonies that are celebrated every day.

…After another subway ride we walked on foot, using a map as our navigation tool, for approximately an hour until we arrived at the Temple of the Jade Buddha. The temple wass built in 1882 to house two beautiful jade Buddha statues that were brought from Burma. The temple also enshrines three majestic, golden Buddhas in its Grand Hall of Magnificence. After the Yuyuan gardens we took a typical Chinese food, we visited the Jade Buddha Temple, a constructed Buddhist temple in 1882 and contains two statues of Buddha made in jade. Our second day was mostly given over to doing our chores but we did find time to visit the Jade Buddha Temple. Actually we didn't quite visit the temple as we are very aware that we will be visiting dozens of temples over the next few months and don't want to get bored with them too soon.
