Its Like Disneyland.. for Grownups! Oct 13, 2008
Temple bar area consists of a couple streets in the heart of Dublin that are closed off to cars and open to ruckus. I LOVED the atmosphere, full of silly Irishmen, singing badly to early 90's music while spilling their Guinness on the person next to them. Its a great place to let loose and has dozens of great bars (including the Auld Original Dubliner!) in just a few blocks. Take a taxi and avoid heels because the streets are old cobblestone and it doesn't mix well with drinking. There are outstanding live musicians playing for change outside the pubs and yummy late night garlic fries to much on. Crowds are friendly and overall it's the place to be after dark!

Try going to the Templ Bar area for food. There is a a hard rock cafe and other eateries. Also, Dame Street... I think ... yeah Dame street. Good luck!

Steer well clear of Temple Bar, the absolute worst part of city centre.

There are lots of different types of restaurant up Georges St and the better Dublin people as opposed to English stag falling over and puking bars are in this direction.

Check out entertainment.ie for events and stuff in November...

Head to Temple Bar for some crazy drunken madness.. Its great for a few drinks, mighty craic (fun), its where all the tourist go, also loads of restaurants you can grab something to eat.. If you want to go cheap, just go into some of the supermarkets in town, like Supervalue or Dunnes Stores and get yourself a cheap sandwich or some hot food & then head back to Temple Bar for more pints of Guinness... Enjoy...

After a few more hours of exploring the Temple Bar area, we returned to our rooms and both took showers. We were relieved to see no signs of roomates yet. At about 10:30 at night, we decided to pay a visit to the soda machine in the hostel bar area. When we went… Temple Bar Area and Hairy Roomies

… We arrived at our stop and my fearless navigator didn't tell me he wasn't completely sure where our hotel was in relation to the Temple Bar area.  Uuuuuuuh, thanks honey! LOL.  We were staying in the Temple Bar area but couldn't find our street on the map.  We asked someone at a restaurant and she had no clue but someone near her directed us off a few blocks… Arriving in Dublin!

After sleeping away most of our first day in Ireland, we hopped a double decker bus which let us off at the downtown area (Connor St.). We spent the evening in the Temple Bar area and had a blast! For those of you familiar with Chicago, the Temple Bar area reminded me a bit of the bars on Rush and Division. Cars weren't allowed down… From Big City, to Big City...

:) After we had satisfied our taste for Guiness, we explored the Temple Bar area, which was so cute. We ate at an awesome Lebanese restaurant where there was a really good belly dancer- who turned out to be American. Small world, huh? I kind of expected Temple Bar to be crazy and dirty (like… Bueno, he vuelto...

After taking an aspirin and a shower I felt right as rain though and around half past ten we were on our way to the Temple Bar area again. We decided to have breakfast at the Queen of Tarts cafĂ© where we had coffee yesterday. This place has a wide choice of danish, scones, cakes, muffins and more. We sampled several of these and they were absolutely delicious. The almond… Dublin (Christ Church Cathedral, Kilmainham Goal, The Old Jameson's Distillery and Guinness)
