It's an ok club if you go with a group of friends. Otherwise if your white and male in this bar you will be attacked with propositions from many many prostitutes, even as a woman i was offered sex for money. And the prostitutes can be pretty pushy. Its open til 6 am which is nice if your up for partying all night, but i wouldnt recommend it to females travelling alone or just with one other woman. Always go with Kenyan locals you trust.

Its a great place to hear a mix of american music from the 80's, 90's and today, as well as some local rap.

It is a pretty dirty club. I found it to be fun during the weekdays, and early in the night. Its pretty dead early on, so if you go with a group of friends you have the whole dance floor to yourself, otherwise.... ick!

And Deodorant is a luxery for most people, so the clubs can become a pretty rank place.

We have a very funny moment at Tembo disco. Our entertainment Manager at the Royal Reserve resort took us there to party. It was a rowdy night. Some Kenyan guys even came in dressed in Masai outfits. Anyway, the dance floor got 'jumping' and we were in the middle of everything. Next think you know, we started smelling B.O. (body odor), a really pungent odor too. The roof of Tembo disco was raised and alot of open air but we were suffocating. We found out the local don't use deodorant. Oh....

The night life in downtown is pretty good with several nicer bars like Casablanca. But if you are in the mood to go all night, go on the north shore to Tembo. It goes sometimes 24 hrs and is more of a wild village than just one open air club. Google it. It was an enjoyable tour. … Downtown Mombasa
