Tasty Tapas Oct 03, 2011
Tapeo is one of the many tapas bars / restaurants in the Barri Gotic. This is not a traditional tapas bar, as there are stools to sit at along the bar and tables line the walls; almost no one stands while eating. The menu is varied and includes 'modern' tapas, i.e. fig and parmesan, pork ribs, etc, as well as the traditional bacalao, suckling pig, etc. We enjoyed our tapas and wine. I thought that the prices were average as far as tapas bars are concerned.

When we arrived, the restaurant was crowded and we were seated at the bar. We requested to be seated at a table as soon as one was free. It didn't take too long and we were relocated to one of the small tables lining the walls. The staff is very pleasant. Although fairly attentive, the staff is small and when the restaurant is full, service can be a bit slow. This seemed like one of the more touristy tapas bars we dined at, but it could have just been the evening we picked to eat there. Seemed as if most of the clientele was from other parts of Europe outside of Spain. It is no smoking, as most places now are in Barcelona and all over Europe. It can get a bit noisy when crowded.

As I mentioned, we enjoyed our meal. We would return and I would recommend this restaurant to others.
