Tapas Locas Barcelona Reviews
Traditional Spanish Tapas Jun 07, 2012
We had spent the morning around the beach and Port Olimpic area of Barcelona and after all the walking around were ready for a bite to eat quite early on in the afternoon. We were wandering around the numerous restaurants along the waters edge, but given that we only wanted a light lunch none of them were looking suitable.
We were about to make our way back along the promenade when we stumbled across Tapas Locas and the menu looked quite appetising and not too expensive either.
We were seated quickly (due to it being very early afternoon) and service was swift. We ordered six traditional tapas dishes - olives, tomato bread, spicy potatoes, char grilled green peppers, fishcakes and ham croquettes. We also ordered a non alcoholic frozen cocktail each too. I was quite intrigued with the fact that the waiter did not take any of our order down in writing and we were both wondering if we would get the correct food when it arrived. We did, but were a dish short (the fishcakes) By this time though the restaurant staff had taken their seats at a table and were consuming their lunch too!!! So given that we had ample food we did not say anything. The food was lovely, however, the drinks were disappointing. For any of you that are familiar with a 'slush puppy' (English readers should be) it was basically a cupful of crushed ice, flavoured with cordial - hardly worthy of the 4 euros each.
The bill came to around 25 euros for us both.
