The new Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal II is inaugurated on the 28th of July 2000 when EVA Air, the wings of Taiwan, operates BR1855 Taipei to Hong Kong, the first flight from the new Terminal II. This is followed, by all EVA Air operations being transferred to the new facilities at midnight on the 29th of July, 2000. The new facilities provided in the new Terminal II building will allow EVA Air to continue providing their passenger the smooth, efficient and quality service. They are accustomed to but in more comfortable surroundings.
In the spacious Terminal II, EVA Air will provide its flight services at the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th Check-in counters and Gate C1-C10. The newly introduced Baggage Handling System (BHS) is completely automatic and is of great improvement over the labor-intensive system used in Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal I. The system is expected to greatly promote the efficiency of group tourist baggage handling.

Well designed transportation system and advanced airport facilities are just two of many attractions of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal II. Most impressive of all, the modern space-frame design of Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal II combines roof and walls in a single immense span, creating broad unobstructed vistas of bright and open interior space.

Due to many transit passengers transferring between Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Terminal I and Terminal II, an elevated railway dubbed people moving system (PMS) provides more convenient ground transportation to benefit the transit passengers
