Pow Wow

So we rise the next morning intent upon returning to the Pow Wow and battled the downtown traffic again (confess I have no desire to return, which is surprising) to hit Wal-Mart and acquire ponchos + lawn chairs.  We entered the Pow Wow before planned activities started and visited most of the artist stands (outside of the performance area it was basically a country fair, chock full of vendors plying food and souvenirs).  Set up our lawn chairs by the San Felipe drummers and ...

Drive from Santa Fe to Great Sand Dunes

In the morning, I left Santa Fe and headed north to Colorado.  Along the way, I passed through the lovely Taos area and saw several beautiful snow-capped peaks.

Here's something a little more recent. I spent a good week in New Mexico in June. I love going to Santa Fe and the Taos area in the fall/winter. Usually between Thanksgiving and Christmas. The cool air, the smell of pinon wood burning and the luminaries the line the adobe structures. Majical. I never had a chance to check it out in the summer. So I did. As much as I enjoyed all the color, I still like the winter feel the best!!!!
