Tanjung Kelayang Beach belitung island Reviews
'White sand beach' Aug 14, 2010
Continung onwards after our trip toTanjung Tinggi Island, a drive of about 20 minutes we went to Tanjung Kelayang beach which has been known by local people as a place of recreation since the first. The most interesting sights is a small island formed by large granite rocks located about 300 meters from the end of the beach. Local residents here named the Stones after a bird on the Island which is Garuda this is because the Stones shape are like that of a birds head, So “Stone Garuda” they were called.
Tanjung Kelayang is an East coast peninsula that juts north, with Kelayang island of granite located approximately 300m to the north. The east coast is a good place to swim, since the seabed is clear with white sandy beaches. Tanjung Kelayang’s white sand beach stretcher as far as approximately 4km to the high point.
This place is also good if you want to play on the beach because of the wide surface of the beach, no granite rocks can be found until you reach Kelayang in the north. Visitors like to walk along the beach to these granite boulders, scattered along the tip of the peninsula as well as at sea level.
Meanwhile, the West coast has a different view. The length along the eastern side from the beach is not as on the west side, where there are more boulders. The view from the beach of the West side is that of three small islands, about 300m from the shoreline and combined with huge granite boulders scattered at sea level, and is more attractive, especially at sunset. The best place to enjoy the beach view is from the top of the west side at the tip of the peninsula in the area of the granite rocks.
If you are interested in visiting the small islands around the coast of Tanjung Kelayang and around the coast, there are many fishing boats that can be rented. With such close proximity of the beach, traveling by boat is for about 10 minutes only at each island, then you can walk around the islands because they are surrounded by white sands, also they are uninhabited.
