The Tanjah Flandria is situated in the center of Tangier, within a foot-walk distance to the Medina and the harbour. The Hotel is quite overpriced for what it offers, but since you are in the Boom-Town of Tanger, they expect you to pay the price for being there!
The rooms are small and shadowy, however you better keep the curtains closed. You can hear the sounds of the prospering city all day and night long (I don't complain about that, since in the summertime there's lot's to celebrate and who wants to go to bed early anyway!)
The beds and furniture are quite old and should be renewed asap! On the old TV you get the Moroccan channels, some Spanish ones, Al Jazeerah, BBC and CNN. The Bath room offers a small bath-tube. Room service cleans the room every day, however the cleanser leaves a smell like in a hospital. When it comes to breakfast, it goes as simple as this: self service for coffee or tea along with some sort of dry pastry. The best thing is, you won't get confused about what to do with that thing on your plate, since they only offer one (!) sort of jam and nothing else. To be honest, this was the poorest breakfast buffet I have ever experienced in a hotel. And hey, I'm not the kind of guy who complains very easily, but when I pay for a 4-star rated hotel and get nearly nothing for it, it's a shame! One evening I went to the hotel-pool on the roof, from where you enjoy a nice view of the city. I wanted to swim some lines to cool off after a hot summer day. Boy was I surprised to find out the entire pool was only 4 feet deep!
So the best about the Tanjah Flandria really is its central position in the inner city of Tanger and the beautiful nearby Cafés along Boulevard Mohamed V! Be sure to order a mint-tea (infusion de menthe)!!!

you should read about my experience in Nice. My, that was awful- at least it didn't claim to have a four star badge!
