I still have very vivid memories of back in 97 when I was still "green"--getting off the train in Tanger and trying to explore the old city in the early hours of the morning when there weren't a lot of people around.  A shifty looking fellow started following me insisting on being my "guide".&…

There is always going to be one blip in any travel plans. This was always going to be a day of travelling to get to our end destination of Ceuta, and having got in and seen about Fes we were free to set off early. Had thought about getting the bus, but trains are more comfortable and we had time on…

Before I get to the tour, let me talk about the taxis and roadways in Tanger. First of all, the taxis are miniscule! The remind me of the old school Volkswagen Rabbits or something. Anyway. They’re all painted the same, and all driven by madmen! Actually, I think that you have to qualify as legal…

Tangier for the memories
posted by:

Tangier is famous in Berber legend for being where the dove brought earth from to Noah and to the Greeks for being the land of the gods or "Beautiful People".  The Greeks obviously had never been to Miami. The city is just as I imagined it, full and bustling.  Many people still wear the…

My company sent me for a knowledge transfer for 1 week to Hamburg + 3 weeks to Spain,an opportunity I couldn’t miss.Despite the big amount of work, lack of sleep, hectoliters of coffee I got to see some of the places I’ve been to as little child. The craziest was a weekend I spent in the south of Spain when a friend of mine visited me in Cadiz and convinced me to make the following tour within 2 days with her: Cadiz-Algeciras-Gibraltar-Algeciras-Tanger-Algeciras-Sevilla-Madrid.

In the middle of the winter we visited south Spain. We slept in the city Tarifa and if you are there, it´s just a few miles to Gibraltar and Tanger (Morocco). The cultural life in Morocco was totally different and a little bit frightening. In Gibraltar we survived an ape attack ;) Sorry for the bad picture quality!
