Great restaurant at a great hotel - Tampu Restaurant Bar of the Sanctuary Lodge ;) Dec 12, 2008
This restaurant is exclusive for the guests of the Lodge and offers delicious local, international a la carte cuisine besides a wide variety of beverages. But the highlights are the fussion dishes, which mix the local and international cuisine.

They serve breakfast from 5:30am – 9am. The breakfast is called the Machu Picchu breakfast and you can choose classic eggs, omeletes, side orders (bacon, sausage), pancakes, ham, cheese, assorted breads from the oven to your table and for your health you can get fresh fruits, fresh juices, cereal (local like kiwicha and traditional like cornflakes), yogurt, jam, besides desserts. And of course the hot beverages like coffee and a classic here: coca tea.

Lunch time is from 12 – 3pm and Dinner is from 6:30-9:30pm. Both are a la carte and the menu changes every 3 months and is not the same for lunch or dinner. During dinner there is a show of folkloric music.

The bar starts working right after breakfast and doesn’t close even though dinner is over. There is always a barman at the bar, haha.

The atmosphere of this restaurant is very nice, wooden floor, with a fireplace, nice bar, tables and comfy couches. We had breakfast on a regular table, lunch at the bar and dinner on a small table with comfy couches. The decoration is very nice too. Also the china, glasses and silverware are very good too.

The staff is really helpful, kind and friendly. They will take excellent care of you.

But what’s a restaurant without tasty food? Well, this place has delicious food too! Appetizers, Entrees are delicious, but the greatest part of their food is the desserts. The chef wants to innovate the desserts and mixes traditional desserts with local products. Impossible being on a diet here…

This place is restaurant and bar. They have a good selection of liquors and wines. Alejandro, the bartender is very helpful and will fix any cocktail you choose. Try the signature drink of the hotel: Blue Sanctuary, which has pisco, blue curacao, egg white, lime juice and syrup. And as we were guests at the hotel all the drinks were free except from some Premium brands.

Sometimes the hotels’ restaurants aren’t the best, but this one is a great exception. :)

Yes, it's very good. If you are staying at the Hotel, the dinner is included, but staying here is very expensive.
