The CR Trip worth remembering
posted by:

As you might have read in my profile that this was the first trip I took solo.  You know I hate when you try to make travel plans with people just to hear them say "Ahhhh man, I don't think I can go."  Whose heard this one before.  I figured that on this trip I was not going to let that get in the way.  I sad, "This time I am going to exactly what I want" without worrying about negotiating with a travel companion. So that is what I did. Costa Rica is a outdoorsmen, ...

1st Click  Flying in a 10seat Sansa Air is an experience on its own, feel like a missionary delivering words of the good book to Guanacaste!  Airport is small, and as my friend put it… CUTE! Five minutes later we are at the hotel beach, Tamarindo Diria it is called. Over priced & the picture of the room lied, pictures always lie yet I felt for it one more time. I hope my pictures don’t lie. Nikon D200 is loaded & ready.  This place is full of t...

Perception SchmepsonI was a bit concerned about visiting Tamarindo, but that shows you how much value one can place in other peoples' opinions.  I'd heard it was like Jacó, which isn't my favourite place in Costa Rica.  However, I was pleasantly surprised by the place.  It has faults - it has quite a developed infrastructure for foreign package tourists and I would guess 90% of the facilities are foreign owned. If you don't surf, then I suspect that it might not hold ones inte...

Sand and Sea Slugs (or, Pipas and Prostitutes)

Hey everybody.  Several days ago we were in Tamarindo, a strong group of six gringos strolling the beach and cruising the commercial strip.  The town is on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica, in the ranching region of Guanacaste.  Tamarindo is pretty well touristed, so it was a bit expensive, but a decent time nonetheless.  The beach is very pretty with white sand and some cool rock formations.  Beau and Kristen and I spent the first morning scouring the rocks for...

So, we are coming to the end of our Honeymoon! We've spent the last three days relaxing, surfing, swimming, catching the last ray's we can and shopping. We’ve gone out to Playa Grande every day and Alex has been catching the bomb waves, although I kept missing the picture. As for my surfing, I think I’m getting the hang of it! I’ve been able to catch a wave by myself and ride it in! Yay!!! We went Salsa Dancing for the last time on Wednesday and had a BLAST! Alex got his last Pipa...

Tamarindo, Brasilito, Coco Beach
posted by:

The last stop on this trip was the Pacific coast to relax and chill out from an adrenaline packed two weeks. Tamarindo is a nice, yet dusty town in a very nice beach setting. Arriving after dark (yes again), it was not too difficult to find the resort. I think finding Tamarindo is more difficult because there are so many roads to take from the highway, but no worries, my navigator made no errors. In Tamarindo, we took a selfguided day trip in sea kayaks to an island offshore from the resort....
