Great food, Great value! Aug 04, 2008
I crossed paths with a family in Steamboat that lives in Denver. I was heading there...and had been Jones'n for some authentic Mexican. Greg recommended LaCasita, and raved about the tamales. What a dream!

After my meetings, I set the GPS for LaCasita. The parking lot was pretty full...for 11am on a Monday. People were coming out with bags of food - not a bad sign. Upon entering the restaurant, I could smell the wonderful aromas of authentic food. I was hitting the road, so I didn't have much time to eat - ordering a mixed half-dozen red and green chili tamales.

WOW! The price was cheap. The red tamales were small and tasty. Be ready for the green ones :) The green are all-vegetarian...made using vegetable oil. They are small, hot and you can't stop with one.

The menu ranges from Burritos, Tamale Plates, a-la-carte items and pints or quarts of chili, beans or salsa.

Put LaCasita on your travel schedule.
