A Beautiful Christmas Market Dec 01, 2015
Tallinn's Christmas market is held in the old town square until 8 January 16.

This is not the largest Christmas market that I have been to but it is certainly the most beautifully located and atmospheric one that I have visited.

The shops sell quality handmade goods such as woolens, candles, marzipan, gingerbread, Christmas tree decorations . They also sell traditional fare such as blood sausages and Glogg (hot wine).

For the children there are carousel rides and a herd of resident reindeer.

I visited at the end of November, and, although the market looked delightful set against the backdrop of the old town hall and medieval buildings, the much wished for snow had yet to materialize. The temperatures were already very low though, and I am sure that this will be rectified in the very near future.

This is a delightful little market. If you get the chance to visit before it closes on 8 January I definitely recommend that you go there.
