Tall Oaks Retreat Arbor Vitae Reviews
Crafters Retreat in the Northwoods Jul 25, 2009
Tall Oaks Retreat is geared towards crafters and scrapbookers. It is a large house that sleeps 16 people (all twin beds) and has a large craft room that can seat 16 crafters. It is the perfect get away for a group of friends that want to work on crafts.
The lodge is located outside of a popular resort area near Minocqua, WI, and is fairly close to restaurants, shopping, and the lakes. It is nestled in the woods and even has a nice fireplace and grill for your use.
There are 5 bedrooms, each sleeping 3-4 people. The twin beds are so comfortable I just want to sleep all day in them! There are 3 full bathrooms and one half bath. The upstairs has a large, fully equipped kitchen with new appliances, utensils and dishes available for use, and a large island to work on. There are two large tables that seat 16. Two full couches and a recliner fill the rest of the space on the upper floor, with a large satellite tv, fireplace and DVD player (and DVDs) available for your use. The upstairs also has a nice deck with a table that seats 4. Three of the bedrooms are upstairs.
The lower level has been converted into a nice craftroom with 16 wooden tables equipped with drink holders! There is a refrigerator and counter for your snacks. Another satellite tv and satellite radio are downstairs. There is also a computer and printer, free wireless internet and an mp3 speaker system. Since this is a crafter's retreat, some crafting supplies are available for use, including cutting mats, a sewing machine, and scrapbooking punches. The lower level has 2 bedrooms and a walkout door to the back driveway and fire pit.
The house is availble for rent for a weekend, midweek, or daily. We had a group of 6 rent it for 3 nights for less than $150 per person for the entire visit! We were able to cook meals on our own, craft all day, shop in town and even have a campfire! I don't know if this place is availble to rent for family reunions or other get togethers, but it might be worth checking out. It is great for a scrapbooking weekend for a small group - I think a group of 16 strangers might get a little cramped, noisy and uncomfortable though.
