An easy way into Oslo Central Jun 16, 2013
Whilst the Flytog (Airport Express Train) is a few minutes faster into Oslo Central, the NSB Regional Train is 50% cheaper and just as effective. Worth the wait and the savings! ALL airport trains, whether they be the Flytog or NSB trains, are clean, have quiet Zones (which must be respected) and some come equipped with underseat power points to recharge laptops and mobile phones. The one thing you really MUST make sure you do is purchase all tickets at the machines provided at both destinations. Otherwise the extra charges for travelling without a pre-purchased ticket can give you a nasty shock! There are inspectors on board the trains. And at the Airport Express Platform at the airport, you will have to go through barriers that have automated openings. Provided that you have a correct and validated ticket, you´ll be safely allowed through.

Trying to save money on a student budget (but not qualifying for student fares), I also found the NSB regional train to be an ideal option this summer. The savings was definitely worth the slight time difference in travel!
