We left the mountain city of Takayama for the cultural city of Kyoto, japans previous capital. It would be my second time visiting Kyoto and would provide me with more opportunity to visit places I hadn't seen during my first visit.

I took a gap year due to my being queen procrastinator about my uni choices. And then I remember thinking, Oooh, I fancy going to Japan!...after many months of earning money and worrying my parents with the vague assurance that I knew exactly what I would do there, I finally arrived. I am now in the final weeks of my stay, completely refreshed and 'ready' to go to university!

Went to Japan for two weeks. One spent traveling around japan on the Shinkansen(bullet train) another 5 days in a home with a host family. Places in japan visited: Osaka Kyoto Tokyo, hiroshima, Takayama.

This trip was totally out of the blue, whilst on my Working Holiday Visa in New Zealand, I needed to get away from windy Wellington so I chose this strange combination. I was spoilt with beautiful deserted Motu in the South Pacific and amazed at the Japanese culture, its a Country like no other I've ever witnessed, a place I fell in love with and hope to return very soon.

My fiancé and I are taking 10 months out to see the world. We are travelling to 27 countries in four continents and are loving it! We're taking turns writing our blog, so one day it'll be me, then one day Fab.

Konnichiwa! This is a blog of my trip to Japan with People to People Student Ambassador Programs, founded by President Eisenhower in 1956. We spent two wonderful weeks on the island of Honshu.
