A beautiful and welcome addition for lunch, happy hour and nightlife in downtown LA. First of all - the view and setup is gorgeous It's a modern but comfortable haven perched far above the greyness of downtown worklife - there are lots of open spaces inside and out, comfy sofas and booths, and lovely city views. Second of all - the service is quite attentive and eager to please (this may be because this place is so new, but everyone was lovely). Third, the food is actually quite good - always a surprise at trendy-type places. For lunch, I had a lotus blossum cocktail (vodka with lychee, but not very sweet, more like a non-tart white cranberry cosmo, with a bright fuschia orchid as deocration), the spicy tuna on grilled rice cakes (slightly diff than from katana, koi and katsuya - these are bite-sized, and the rice is crispy throughout (i.e., no chewy center) - quite tasty and perfect as bar food) and the tempura bento box (this was good, nothing extraordinary). My friend had the sashimi salad that she thoroughly enjoyed. I'm coming back to check out elevate lounge for some dancing - they were nice enough to give us a tour of the space even though the lounge isn't open during the day (i think it opens at 9pm). Haven't checked out the happy hour scene yet, but I'm sure that will happen esp while the weather continues to be good (no bargains on drinks, but half-off on bar food during happy hour).

8.29 - went again for drinks - try the white rose petal - quite unique and lovely. and also the lychee mojito - very refreshing (as suggested by iheart2travel).

Please note the 4 stars is mainly for ambience, view, service. Actual food is about 3 stars (not bad; not great).
