Tairiku Bar Hikoroku Tokyo Reviews
Indie Rock Bar with oriental cuisine made of fresh organic veggie Jun 26, 2011
This bar is in a renovated Japanese old house and it's a small bar that can accept only 20 people. A man who is also a traveler/uklele player is serving as a master here.
They have gigs almost on every Saturday, and the genre of music varies. Sometimes it's a punk music show, sometimes progressive rock, and sometimes it can be a poetry reading show.
The master is really into music and he could talk about any genre of music so it would be really great if you are a big music fan.
The food he serves is also great.
It's a fusion oriental dishes, some are Thai, some are Okinawan, some are Chinese and some are Italian.
The veggie he serves there are grown in a patch he is taking care of. Everything he serves tastes really fresh and healthy.
My favorite dish is spicy spring roll, it tastes like kebab + mint flavor. It was really great!
They have a long list of drinks as well. Not only Japanese beer, sake or shochu (Japanese spirit), they also serve mekong whiskey, shochu made from french stuff, russian vodka etc.
"Tairiku" stands for "continent" in Japanese, and he named his bar after that because he is a traveler.
If you are a traveler and music lover or organic lover, this is a hidden gem that you should find.
