Taipei International Hotel Reviews
Small hotel with great value Nov 27, 2013
We booked Taipei International Hotel through an agent at the last minute. They have a family room, with 2 Queen sized beds, that is good enough for a family. Check-in was smooth and the receptionists are friendly.
We liked the location, although not as centralised as other hotels. The nearest MRT exit is the Zhong San station and we need to walk a distance to reach the hotel. It is located at the intersection and there are 2 entrances. One along Nanjing East Road and one along Lin Sen North road. The door at Nanjing East road is the one that is mostly open.
Great amenities around the hotel as well, fast food restaurant, convenience shops. They can help you book tours, and arrange for transport to and from the airport.
The bed is comfortable and clean. I had a standard room, with 2 single beds put together into a large bed. I cannot figure out how to adjust the air conditioner, hence I presume that the air conditioner system runs on automatic.
Small room like mine does not come with a bathtub, but decent enough with a shower area. The arrangement is also very compact, and depending on the room location, you can get to see Taipei 101 from your room.
Breakfast was average. A decent spread of oriental and continental food. The oriental food tastes nice and warm, and the coffee is also good. One thing to note is that the breakfast area is inaccessible by life, and you need to climb the stairs up.
As the hotel marketed itself, it is a small hotel catered to the needs of the business travellers. You will also notice that there are some Japanese travellers there. Apparently, the area used to be frequented by Japanese, hence, you can expect Japanese translation mostly in the hotel.
